Guess what this is, description/name and use.
Answer in two days. Happy guessing. 😉 …
[Update]
The answer to the first question: description of this item, is a "nail puller"
Well done, Sami, :hat: for paying attention to what I've been up to and guessing the correct answer.
The answer to the second question: name of this item, is "Crescent" Nail Puller by Cooper Tools, USA. 😀
Unfortunately no one answered this question. :p
[Final Update]
Now the question about the use, which I meant how to use this and how this works …: describe how this tool is used to pull a nail out, where you'd put your hand and which part goes where. …
The correct answer was again provided by Sami, who found the exact instruction on the web. Well done :hat:   :wine: :star:
Go to this page (address provided by Sami) to see how exactly this tool is supposed to work. 🙂
No idea what it is called but I whisper my guess so I don't spoil the fun for others 😀
Sodomy Non Sapiens! :left:.(Buggered if I know!)
Sami, I can tell this is not used to extract a tooth :pOriginally posted by qlue:
😆 :lol:I would also like people to guess how this is used as well. 😀
I used to pack/unpack air and shipping crates so I know just what this is and how it is used 😀
I knew you knew, DH 😀 :sst: A very very useful tool, borrowed from a neighbour 😉

Well, how does this work is pretty intuitive, at least for me :p Although, I have never used one. And what comes to the name, i still have no idea what is the correct name in my own language (Finnish) but in English it's… (whispering again)

I suppose you did not saw my whisper :left: Another MyOpera bug perhaps  Anyway, I say you have used this a lot lately, and you have used it on the roof 😀

yes! the funny yellow smiley that looks similar to this :sst:. tells you it's a whisper!.

I did. (Though I didn't know that was "whispered". Does that mean others can't read it?) Anyway tooth extractor part was meant a joke :DSo you've got the description. What about the name and how exactly this works? 😉
Oh, I would like to hear your wispering. 🙂
I think Sami's pretty close to the right answer, though I'm not sure about the part he saidOriginally posted by serola:
But we'll see. :DDid it work?
Don't know what it is, but I like the rust. 😀
Originally posted by debplatt:
It's made in USA. 😀 And the best in the business when rust is involved. 😉

:eyes: It must be quite old, then. We don't manufacture much of anything any more. :awww:Still no clue as to what it is, though.
I'll tell you what it is shortly. But as to how exactly this is used is another question that boggles your mind. 😀
OK, just updated the post to give you answers to the questions one/two: description & name. Check out. 🙂

Well, I've stayed up much too late (1:24 A.M.), so off to bed I go. It was really nice catching up with you. 🙂
DIY's in our blood. 😀 (OK, I'm not a born kiwi. But these things get inside your DNA if you live there long enough. :p)Good night Deb. Thank you so very much for popping in. 🙂
Just checked out the update. I think I'd use it to club the nail — not to extract it — just out of sheer frustration. This would probably dent the wood around the nail, pretty much ruining the piece. Then I'd throw it away.
😆 😆 I see you are NOT a hardware person. 😆
😀 Told as only a real engineer would ;)I actually found a Youtube video, in which the guy who found a similar device in th attic had no idea what or how even having one right in his hands and asking if anyone can explain. Funny thing is many people answered him also had no idea. 😆
Without the basic understanding of its use it is a fairly obscure looking device 😀
Interesting device, it uses two distinct mechanical processes to work, two first class levers for the pincer and the levering and a simple slide hammer to engage the pincers beneath the nail head. Simple but highly effective
Well done, Sami :hat:  So tell me honestly. Did you actually "intuitively" know how the tool worked BEFORE reading the instruction on Net? 😀

Yes I did 🙂 Maybe because I have used ordinary crowbar where the idea is pretty much the same.
OK, I take your word for it. 🙂 Very good job, Sami. You are the winner of this challenge! Now all you need to do is book a flight to Wellington and help me with the roof, mate. 😀

Bloody shame 😀
😆 That would fun and I guess my whole family would want to come and help you Just to get away from this cold winter weather we have right now. Unfortunately NZ is just a little too far 😀
😆 I'm out of luck, aren't I? :DI am hoping to finish at least the stage one before Christmas. 🙂

When will YOU be coming over to help painting, Aadil? 😀
I'm sorry but I have booked up the December already :psmurf: This weekend I need to visit my mother, then I go to Oslo, and finally holidays will require some preparations (as usual), and then father and sister in law are coming to our place on X-mass… :insane:
I have heard about "painting holidays", but i think they usually have more to do with art and less to do with painting houses
A new business venture, "windy painting holidays" 😆

I could let them set up their easel on roof top, one at a time probably, if that were what they wanted. :p It'd have to be on unpainted section and they'd have to finish painting before we start painting 😀
😆 😆 I'd have to install a few anchor points so that my clients could secure their easels 😀
And themselves…
:lol: Nothing like the invigorating fresh Wellington breeze 😛
I'm hoping they'd know not to go up there in high wind to start with. 😀
Not much choice where you are
Indeed, very fresh 😀
That could be an excellent tourist attraction for crazy "wannabe artists" 💡 Come and paint the house art project :DAlthough, maybe there are some regulations that prohibit people to mae artistic paintings on the roof of their houses… And maybe it would look just awful :lol:I tried to find some examples but surprisingly little roof art done (or pictures just not put on the internet) :left:
😆 😆 Maybe you can set an example yourself and start it in Finland. 😀 Originally posted by serola:
Maybe because of the difficulty seeing the finished product? ;)BTW My roof is going to be painted with Misty Green of the Colour Steel TM range. If an arty folk wanted to paint on canvas while on my roof top in exchange of a little help with my painting project, that would be fine. But they are NOT painting pictures on MY ROOF! :p
