  1. I love it  Well done This kind of collages are nice way to see many things at once and together they make a story.

  2. Thank you very much, Sami. Making this also let me recall and contemplate on many things I did during the month, which was a nice way to spend a rest day from the roof. 😉 I was actually on a look for a free collage software earlier. Then I realised my trusty FastStone Image Viewer had "Image Strip Builder" tool, which can arrange images horizontally as well as vertically. I experimented with it and the end result was quite OK, I think, except for the uneven gaps.

  3. Just pretend that you are supposed to be doing it, people will then nod and walk away…. 😀

  4. Also you look a bit strange… That is what I did to take this one, right beside the road 😀

  5. Thanks, DH. I'll go back the trees for more pictures. I'm thinking about lying on my back right by their roots for next shots. The trouble is they both are right by a relatively popular track. If I choose a wrong time, there's a risk of being trodden over by the morning/lunch time/afterwork all terrain joggers 😀

  6. Brilliant shot! :yes:Originally posted by darkesthour:

    Yeah, right! 😀

  7. Most exciting, I love it. I enjoy seeing things through the eyes of others, it brings new perspectives and fresh realizations on things.

  8. Hi Nitro Welcome :DThank you for your kind comment. I'm rather new to this photography business. It's challenging, exciting and rewarding when things turn out well. I'm also learning a lot by looking at other people's pictures. It's a lot of fun.

 I have also learned a lot during last year while participating to 365 and S&T groups 🙂

I'm also making new friends. 🙂

  11. MM, believe me, I understand. I am by no means a photographer and I am truly hoping to get better at it. I have a lot of space for improvement. I enjoyed you photos, I think, in the long run, it is the recording of things as they happen that really matters.:D

Thank you, Helen. 🙂 And I think keeping that in mind and keeping trying help to make your photos better.

I have thought about this a lot as well. When looking over hundred years old photos, it really is the document value that seem to matter. Fancy tricks and abstract images just does not become any more interesting when time passes. However, the technique is important part to learn. Well composed and exposed pictures are just better than bad ones, no matter if taken yesterday or hundred years ago. But does that mean the special tricks and abstract photos are no good at all? Of course not, because all technical practice also help us to become better in documentary photography. We learn how to compose, select the depth of field, see how the length of shutter speed affect on the subject etc.

  14. Hmmmm, and this is where Elvis leaves the building, so to speak. I point and shoot. Who knows maybe I can learn something from you all. I would really like to take better pictures of the monkeys and the wild life here and I must say….some are acceptable, but I have a far way to go learning about shutter speeds and what not.

  15. Hmmmm, yes, I will have to play around with these techniques as my subjects move at different speed at different time. For instance, I would love to get good shots of their aerial expertise and acrobatic abilities.

Reading the instruction manual helps. :DWildlife photography must be very difficult. I've been trying to catch the distinctive sheen of the native birds that visit my garden for last 6 weeks and yet to turn out one satisfactory picture. In your case with the monkeys, often you have only one hand available for photography, and, it's impossible for you to make any setting adjustment.

  17. Thank you Sami, I will go and see this sight. I would really like to improve on my photos, there is some improvement from the first ones, but not great, if you know what I mean.Ok, let me go and check it out.

This calls for a whole new setup.:yikes:

  19. Yes MM, that is very true,I also get have the problem that the where the best shots are available, the subjects are way too close. Another problem is, the fear of the camera being snatched as even my pockets get raided and I can no longer carry a pen to make notes. I now write with a very short pencil that I can hold firmly in my hand and this also attracts great attention.

  20. Learning can be made easy and fun 😀 Without seeing your pictures Nitro, I suggest you try to 'pan and shoot' instead of 'point and shoot' 😀 Use a little longer shutter speeds like 1/30 second and follow the subject while shooting:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panning_(camera)EDIT: Subjects too close :eyes: You need wide angle lens then.

  21. Ideally I would like a macro and a good fast high power zoom… In reality I will make do with what I have 😆

  22. I don't know if the wide angle lens works in your case. I can see a high powered zoom lens could be useful, though.Originally posted by NitroH:

Yeah, try them out. Take lots of shots and see how they turn out.Originally posted by darkesthour:

    That's true.

  25. The collage is a good idea to remember the past month. Perhaps I'll also try it. 🙂

Thank you, Ange. You have a good evening. 🙂

  28. Thank you, Aadil :)We had a very good November weatherwise and I wasn't too busy with painting preparation. That probably reflects in the range of pictures in the collage. Now the DIY has started and weather hasn't been or will be too good, I doubt December collage will be this good. 😉
