Using Opera Mini for the first time ever
Tricky business I tell you. Don't think I'd make a habit of this. Casual mobile data costs a fortune in NZ.

I'm posting this now. Fingers Xed.

Day 2 Trying to insert a pic

What a mission!! :faint:

Day3 another go
Finally managed. But there must be an easier way to copy URL and paste.

  1. Cheers, Mick and DH. Not only good looking, the phone's also dust and rain proof. Cool, eh? :DOriginally posted by qlue:

I may have developed a certain level of immunity after the last time I was accidentally banned for "spamming"

Hmmm. I don't think I'd go out to get that spam-jab. :pIf I did get banned for "spamming", you guys would ask for my reinstatement for me, wouldn't you? 😉

  2. I am surprised it has not happened to me yet, I see no real difference between my comments and anyone elses..

  3. Not bad at all, the excellence of the subject does help, of course..

Of course :happy:The downside is the battery goes really quickly. I've been using it almost continuously since morning and it about 10% left now. I suppose it can't be helped, at least while I'm setting it up.

  5. Bizarre, still it seems the storm has passed.. Back to normality (whatever that is) 😀

  6. It was odd that OI was posting using the smiley faces etc without getting got.. Even Der Wanddersman got got

  7. It was very odd. I even had a comment here marked spam.(Probably because it had 3 links in it, although all of them pointed within opera.com domain)

How quickly, is the question. Originally posted by darkesthour:

Not sure. But I think they have fixed the search bug, so thinking that might also have fixed this spam filter error.

It'll never be the same to me, now I've tasted the forbidden fruit of smartphone Internet. 😀

  11. So do I. You've planted a device in my glasses, haven't you? 😥 :insane::p:coffee:

  12. I have been tempted, but I think it may end up occupying even more of my time than it does already.. :eyes:

  13. You are already assimilated!! :insane:(commenting from the mobile :))

  14. Sounds like you are already assimilated, commenting from your mobile 😆

This might helphttps://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.latedroid.juicedefender&hl=enI have been using it ever since I got my first android phone and it does seem to work.

  17. Everything I've read does say those task killers are unnecessary, and can even make things worse. Juice defender works differently. It leaves tasks alone but powers off the mobile and Wi-Fi radios when not needed to save battery.

  18. Thanks, Mick. 🙂 I've looked through the store and am thinking about getting one of those unnecessary task killer apps. I'll take a look at your recommendation.

Necessary to me. I'm very anti-FB and can't stand the phone running multiple FB related apps that cannot be uninstalled.

The second time I saw that expression. :DI think the phone manufacturer is responsible for building in those FB related cr4papps. 🙁

  21. It's a recognized technical termhttp://pcdecrapifier.com/:lol:Yeah, the phone manufacturer or your carrier do put those apps on and tie them into the OS so they can be really hard to remove. That's why I suggested rooting your phone.

I think I eventually will. Just not in the first week of started using Android. I'm a translator, not a geek. :p

  23. I AM a geek and that's why it was one of the first things I did with my current phone. :DBut it is a big, and potentially complicated, step. So I completely understand someone's trepidation. Once you do decide to take the plunge there are some good resources out there. I found that the XDA forums http://forum.xda-developers.com/ were the place to go.

To us geeks, it is mandatory to root it! :p

  25. Just arrived on this blog post after searching the word decrapified online, through the site pcdecrapifier.com. Just ROFLing when I see the kind of expressions people come up with

😆 Indeed there are some very very curious expressions. A geeky version of code-brown actioned, maybe? :pWelcome to my site, Arminius. :hi:

  27. Thank you, unfortunately my account was blocked, but here I am, back with a new account. :hi: 🙂
