Legendary season’s greeting and message

It’s just over three weeks to the end of the year 2012. …

For many of us this is a festive season in one way or another. There are only two weekends till Christmas and three weekends till New Year. (I am with the “Team New Year” ;)) Busy time. Mad time. Then celebration time. Silly season.

Here is my Season’s greeting post for all of you who celebrate this time of year. First of all I wish you all happy and safe festive season. 🙂

If you don’t celebrate anything in particular, I still wish you all safe and happy ending of 2012 and good start of 2013. 😉

Now I hope you all enjoy the message video, courtesy of these guys 😀

  1. I am aware the accent is rather a hard one to follow. So I made a dialogue caption (legend!) with some commentary*****************At a party, a boy watches a friend and think …'Oh, no. George's driving. He's too wasted. I should say something. But I could look dumb in front of Monique …' (wasted = drunk)The boy imagines being told, 'Bro. Monique says you're dumb'He keeps thinking, 'But if he crashes, I'll have live with his family'He imagines George's family, 'Puzzle time!'Still thinking, 'And if he dies, the ghost George will haunt me, forever'He imagines a scene with George's ghost, 'Grab chip. Y'wanna chip?' 'You know I can't grab your ghost chips! Go away!!''SPOON' 'Spoonhead''Boo!'The boy jumps. George calls out, 'Ey. What you're doing, bro?''I've been internalising a really complicated situation in my head.''What you're on about?''I don't think you should drive.''Nah!''Nah, you're too drunk, bro. Just crash here.' (crash = stay & sleep over)'Yeah. Crash here''… OK'The boy smiles and walks around happy, thinking, 'Stopping a mate from driving drunk. Legend.'************************:D:coffee:

  2. BTW That video contained the most quoted or referenced one-liner in NZ in 2011, despite only aired since late October. Do you want to guess what line it was? 😉

  4. Maybe: "Off you go Porter!" :sherlock:This campaign for homeless dogs reached news yesterday here in Finland 😆 So, it takes that long to get news from New Zealand to Finland :p

  5. Dogs like to stray and ponder rather than go straight to the destination. 😀

  6. Thank you, Crysta. :)And you, too, have a great Saturday evening.

  7. 😀 Cheers, Crysta. Already Monday morning. Have work to do. You enjoy your Sunday afternoon. 🙂

  8. Mum, it looks like I have it right but sometimes I can't remember which side of the dateline New Zealand is on. So the way I have tried to do it, is your ahead for us by about a day, is that right? :confused:For example to compare to your above time and date stamp it is 18:18 at the time of posting on December 16, 2012 ……

  9. Yes. We're on NZ Daylight Saving Time (UTC+13) and roughly a half day ahead of UK & Europe, and, I think, about 3/4 day ahead of US/Canada/S American friends. I posted the previous comment around 8 o'clock in the morning. And the time stamp of your comment just above this one reads "December 17, 2012, 2:18:24 PM" in my time. :DIndependent State of Samoa's clock is even more ahead of us by one hour. Their Summer time zone is UTC+14

  10. Excellent ……. 😀 in strictly hours terms you're 6 hours behind us, 14:00 compared to 18:00 here … which is what I was seeing too, but somebody came along and kicked you into tomorrow …. …. Hey, be happy it wasn't into THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK, Mum …..

  11. Morning! :DOriginally posted by crystalacey:

    😆 😆 And soon you'd be a century behind. :p

  12. Thank you very much for that film, translation and wishes for Christmas and New Year. I enjoyed it! I also wish you all the best and hope the next year there are nor earthquakes in NZ.:)

  13. My pleasure. This has been my favourite since its release. The characters' are funny and message convincing. Nothing like "if you break the law, you'll get caught" kind you'd see in other countries. ;)And thank you for your best wishes, Angelika. 🙂

  14. Thank you, Crysta. :DAnd have a good afternoon and lovely evening. :wine: :coffee:

  15. I appreciated that you typed out the dialog. I had only understood maybe 70% of it. :DBest wishes for the holiday season, and a Happy New Years to you. :hat:

😆 You're doing a lot better than Youtube's auto-captioning feature. "I've been internalising …" was perhaps the most quoted line of the year. One of Arwen's picture has a reference to that line: http://my.opera.com/mimi_s_mum/albums/showpic.dml?album=9159942&picture=141673622 ;)Originally posted by debplatt:
