Crying alien

My heart has been crying alien since yesterday afternoon, following a bit of strenuous cleaning task at my section. …

Just like the boy cried wolf was, I know it's not SUPPOSED to be a big deal. (At least that's what the doctor told me the first time) But when the PVCs happen consecutively, and not just one off but intermittently to frequently, it's hard to relax or sleep.

I didn't sleep well last night because of the flip-flopping alien in my chest. Now I feel I could use some nap, and it's only 8.20! Ah, well. I just have to get on with the day and sneak in power naps here and there, which is luckily quite easy thing to do for me being a work-at-home-freelancer. I might even try going for an easy walk, as the alien seems to like steady moderate exercise. I'll be alright. It's not the real alien, is it?

  1. I first did not understood what PVC is but now I get it. Maybe I have that as well but very mild one. Sometimes it just feels like heart is making an extra beat :headbang: Or then it's just something else. But yes, great "Wikipedia doctor" also says it should not be serious.

  2. 😆 Did you say round tuis? :DI actually take it as a sign I need to exercise. I haven't done a lot lately since I came back from Japan. And sudden strenuous exercise when unfit is not a good idea for a PVC prone person. I just forgot lifting and carrying garden rubbish sacks up steps constituted strenuous exercise.I'll be OK, DH. It's behaving now. 🙂

  3. My younger brother has something similar. Shouldn't be ignored…:sst:

Here you're, DH. The round tuis 😆

  5. Actually, I like my tui's as a brown bottle with a twist off cap

  6. Thanks, Sami. It's just one of those things people have to live with, I think, like migraines or indigestions. But I am actually considering to take up DH's advice. The ED doctor said I should go to GP if the symptoms became bothersome. And at worst, I have three or four consecutive PVCs rahter frequently, which I found quite bothersome. So, to the docs, when I get 'round tuit. 😀

Thanks, Gary. Apparently it's quite common among otherwise healthy athlete, normally benign, but some have a serious underlying cause.Incidentally I had a new Twitter follower earlier(, probably got his attention when I tweeted about PVCs). He had been an endurance athlete and had a congenital heart defect but never realised it all his life until about a year ago. He had to have an open heart surgery and now re-training but re-trained himself to run the New York marathon and now gunning at Ironman next year. The ED doctor did say there was no sign of structural defect in ECG. But he wasn't a cardiologist. Hmmm.

  8. When I understood it right sometimes your heart didn't beat in the right rhythm, isn't it? I have the same problem since 5 years and a cardiologist checked it. My heart works okay. It is normal that it sometimes comes out of his rhythm. Many people have it, but don't recognize it. It is necessary to know that there is no sign of structural defect. So, relax Mimi's Mum, and enjoy life. Breathe quietly when it begins again 🙂 and don't panic. (By the way I am " 7wellis" and in my second blog I am "Chamaeleo".)

  9. Yes, I have a second blog to seperate a little between the budgies and my chamaeleon. In addition for the moment I try a little this and try a little that. 😀 It is fun! You can talk and write in Japanese? WOW! This seems to be a very difficult language. Why did you learn it? It's a good idea to call me Angelika. That's my real name and I (Chamaeleo) will be your friend with pleasure. Are you better today? Did you sleep well? I hope so. Have a nice day!

  10. You have the second blog? :eyes: Oh, I see, you've separate blogs for separate kind of animal companions you keep. :)I have multiple blogs, too. They are kind of legacy blogs I used to keep for specific subject. I do try to maintain them so that they don't get deleted by the respective service providers. But I don't keep them concurrently. (I used to keep two tramping blogs, one in Japanese other in English. But it was such a hard work!)So how shall I call you? I spotted your German friends call you "Angelika". Is it OK if I call you that? And should I invite Chamaeleo to become my friend, too? ;)Regarding my PVCs, (which I personally call "my alien",) I've had it since I was an adolescent. They became more noticeable in last couple of years and lately becoming a little difficult to ignore. So, yeah, it's an ongoing story. I'll keep you posted.

… . and I've accepted it with pleasure. 😉 Ah, a Japanese woman – and how long are you living now in NZ? That bring many questions to me and perhaps they are to private. I don't want to be meretriciously (I hope the word is right). Bye-bye. Till tomorrow! It is now my turn to be tired.

  12. I am Japanese, actually. :p Though I'm planning to apply for NZ citizenship pretty soon. 😎 Not that I try to keep it secret, but I would like people to judge me from what they see, rather than the crest on my passport. Thanks Angelika. I slept fairly well last night and I'm better today, though still feeling a little tired. I'll be OK. :)And I've just sent Chamaeleo my friend request 😉

  13. MM, I'm trying to get user icons for each of my friends, but I can't get one to display for you. Nor Darkest Hour. I need to know your user name that Opera knows you by. I've fixed several non-working icons by scrounging up their real user names and replacing what I see by your avatars. Has worked for several. So, if you would, toss me your official user name. You too Dh.

  14. L2D2, You should see the official user names on URL 😉 Just visit the someones pages and have a look on URL.

  15. Linda's already got you one, DH. Go to one of your comments to her blog, and you'll see.

Sami, yes, Bud and Tamil told me that, so the last few I haven't iconized, I have been checking their urls. Thank you.MM, I've already fixed you up with one and I think you saw it, right? At the time, I had no idea you weren't a New Zealander. Maybe I should put a little Japanese geisha girl???

  17. Dh. Look at the image to the right of your name. Yours says "Give me beer" hahahaha

Hope you don't mind me not telling you. I've been here 20 years and consider myself a Wellingtonian first and a born again kiwi second.Originally posted by L2D2:

No. No. No. Kiwi's fine by me, Linda. 😀

  19. Lots of things in design on OC do not show up in IE or else they are distorted, out of place, various farkles. Doesn't display worth a damn

  20. Try FF or Opera. What are you doing using IE anyway? Are you at work? That would explain it.

  21. I've good days and not so great days. Steady exercises seem to control it but that's not really useful when I'm trying to sleep. I probably should follow DH's order to go see the DR sooner rather than later.

  22. The reference to the "alien" really conveys what a creepy sensation this must be.Seeing the DR sooner sounds like a good idea to me.

  23. This (Premature Ventricular Contractions ) can never be a good thing. Firstly it scares the living daylights out of the host and secondly, it is all to easy for someone who does not have too live with it, to say. "It is no big deal"Look after yourself MM. Hugs Helen

  24. Thank you for your kind comments, Ladies. The Alien has been behaving for last few days. :)Unlike other, more serious chronic conditions such as asthma and the diabetes, PVCs is indeed supposed to be benign in otherwise healthy adult (such as me). I'm a bit Spocky :spock: in a way that I readily accept authoritative rational information. But as Deb & Helen guessed, actual experience of pronounced episodes is unnerving & can make one feel it could potentially become a big deal. Originally posted by NitroH:

Thank you, Helen. I will. No smoking, no drinking, no late nights, no wild parties :pOriginally posted by L2D2:

Your one is a way more vicious and dangerous than mine. But it can be removed, can't it? ("Aliens" one liner, anyone? 😀 "Ripley: Get away from her, you *bitch!*" Sorry :p)

  25. That does sound worrisome MM, and probably would give me panic attacks. I feel as though I have an alien in my lungs, too, and I just want it to be gone.
