Dance of summer breeze

We, the photography group Shoot&Tell members had the silhouette theme for the last fortnight. It was an interesting and intriguing theme to work on.

Initially I was a bit reluctant, because it seemed the detail focused images would be more relevant than silhouette here in NZ especially now being the height of summer and all. However as I watched other's creativity being exploded on this theme, my reluctance became an enthusiasm. Especially after Deb pointed out I have the perfect object here right outside my lounge. (I'm always slow to catch on :p) …

I was particularly fascinated by how the thin but patternless net curtain dancing in the summer breeze against the setting sun created an incredibly mesmerising effect, so mesmerising that I took literally dozens of photos. Now what do I do with all those photos?

The natural approach is to follow my S&T friends' leads and create collages. It was a rather nice surprise that the collages turned out quite, almost equally or even more mesmerising than seeing a stand alone picture of this theme. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have. 😉

Note: the full size collages linked from these smaller images are quite large.

  1. Be patient, DH. Your turn will come ;)The clouds are still moving quite fast on the Sou'easter wind. We may still have a shower or two this afternoon.

  2. Well the sun is shining and the roof seems dry. I'll try to clock up some roof time. 😉 TTFN. Keep dry 😀

  4. Hey Steffi. Do you mind waiting for a few days (up to a week)? I'm thinking about writing a separate post about how I made those collages and animated gifs. That way the tips can be shared by more people, and some of them may have better tips. Is it OK?

  5. It became quite warm by end of the day and I did get into my shorts :DOriginally posted by mimi_s_mum:

By the end of the day here, I'm looking for my flannel pj's. It's snowed so much and for so long, I don't even remember what my grass and flowers look like.
