Just a quick "breaking news" report to say that I finished putting the last bit of second top coat on my roof exactly at 12.30, 31 March NZDST (23.30, 30 March GMT). 😀
I've got a couple of translation jobs to do right now, but will post a full report of the final stage in due time. Thank you everyone for your encouragement and support.
[Update]
Now completely in the gloomy wet weather, writing about roof painting seems not quite relevant. So I will just add this update to conclude my Project-R reporting.
I have finally uploaded the last of the last lot of photos to album, Project-R. The album is now concluded, and arranged in ascending chronological order (the oldest first). If you want to skip the earlier photos and see the newest ones, click the image.
To all my Northern Hemisphere friends. When are you going to start your painting project? 😀

I hate it when that happens. Hate wasting food. Also breads are getting more expensive, too. Wheat price rising! 🙁
Even if you can afford the bread, who can afford the butter to go with it? :eyes:

I know. I haven't bought butter for years. I've been using Olivani (olive oil spread) instead. 🙁

I suppose the dairy price hike will encourage me to practice more portion control. I'll buy the same stuff, but try to use smaller amount each time make last longer. Again the freezer is my friend. I buy 1kg block of cheese, cut it into 250g portions, grate and bag each into freezer bag and freeze. I used to use a big handful for pasta (:D) and sandwiches. Now my handful is getting smaller and smaller. Good for my visceral fat level, I suppose. :p
Cheese will become too expensive as well
What the old school ones or the new school ones 😀

I was just at the grocery store today. Here's the price for a gallon of milk (3.79 liters). $2.79 in US dollars is $3.60 in New Zealand dollars. So a liter of milk costs $1.05 New Zealand dollars.

I like the wind turbines 😀
Still, land without contours is boring and flat 😆 I will still enjoy the occasional
Me too, drinking beer does not help the situation either
Well, look at Holland for example… Flat as a pancake.. Nice people though

I must admit that I rather like the big wind turbines on the way into Wellington, I think they look rather grand, unfortunately lots of people don't seem to like them at all
Both make good use of clean free natural energy

Yes. They are cool! :cool:Originally posted by darkesthour:
I find it's quite unfortunate a lot of local "greenie" folks oppose the wind turbines. Those are build on the farm land, not native forest. I'd rather have as many of those as necessary than anything that have to heat up water to get steam for generation.

Remember when I was saying that in the U.S. cows kill more people than sharks? Surprisingly wind energy kills more people in the U.S. than nuclear energy: http://www.wind-works.org/articles/BreathLife.html

Seems US folks are yet to learn to build wind turbines properly
G'nite 🙂
Maybe they should buy some nice NZ made ones…
We are buying a lot of our alternative energy components from other countries… which is kind of ironic as U.S. politicians have been trying to convince the public that it will create jobs here and make us energy independent. However if we are buying overseas components, might as well buy some that don't kill people. :up:I don't know if you've seen any of the videos of our wind generators experiencing catastrophic failure. Pieces end up shooting off in all directions at high velocity. It's pretty scary.Well on that note, I'm off to bed. Have a good one.

I'll have to see if I can borrow DVDs of the show from our library.
Uncle Mick, that looked like a fun show. 😀
It was. 🙂
You might be able to find it on cable, one of the US networks (comedy central  ) picked it up.
 It was on WGN in the States, which may not show it any more and The Comedy Network and CTV in Canada. You might still be able to find it on another channel.
Will check it out! Thanks.:)

SummerAngel, thanks for the link!
You are welcome Deb. I watched a few of them yesterday. There is also a Season 2. Let me know if your want the link for that one too.
Aren't you very good to be tracking those down. :up:So you've been watching the show, what do you think?I think they did 6 seasons altogether.
Too expensive on YouTube. Maybe I can get a boxed set. :sherlock:.

That is why I do not have mobile internet access. The way I surf, I would end up spending more on just my cell phone bill per month than what I pay for cell, home phone, internet service, and dish tv combined. I am holding out for unlimited mobile internet access.

I like it Mick. So far I've watched Ruby Reborn and Tax Man. I've bookmarked all 6 Seasons so I can watch them in my spare time.
What I mean by too expensive is that we pay per megabyte here. :left:. It's cheaper to buy a dvd full price than to watch it online. :irked:.
but Blackberry is free and everyone owns a Blackberry right? :p.

I had sent myself the link to the first episode of Corner Gas, then watched it on my TV which has a computer attached to it. However once it was done I didn't know which one to watch next. :confused:Originally posted by SummerAngel:
We gave up our landline so that we could justify getting a flat, monthly price on mobile internet access. For us it's a bonus that only people we give our phone number to can call us, but other people might prefer being listed in a phone directory.
phone book listing is optional here. You can get a land line or cellphone listed..Flat rate internet doesn't exist here in any form. :awww:.
Deb, on the right side of the screen, the Season 1 episodes are listed in order from last aired to first aired. Scroll to the bottom of that list and click on Corner Gas – Ruby Reborn – Part 2. Originally posted by debplatt:

Verizon does not offer flat rate mobile internet access in my area. When/if it does, I would consider giving up my landline also. Deb, do you use mobile internet to watch your tv or do you have home internet also?I have honored my contract with Dish Network and am thinking about canceling my service with them soon. I can watch most of my shows on on my HDTV which has an HD computer I recently purchased attached to it. My Dish savings will pay for the new computer in approximately six months.
I don't know if I can record shows with my computer. If I can, I haven't figured it out yet. I have bookmarked several websites I can watch tv shows and movies online for free. Some websites are more complicated to navigate than others, but to me, it's worth the effort.
My husband did a stint guest-blogging at my site and wrote up a two-part post on how to set up your computer to record shows (here's part one). The key change to the computer was buying a new card, as described here:
I have watched shows at the non-pro version of hulu.com. However we finally broke down and subscribed to instant download shows on Netflix. We primarily use Netflix to watch old TV shows and TV shows from other countries. I had checked to see if we could watch "Corner Gas" on it, but it is only available through Netflix DVD. We so far have stuck to the cheaper, download-only version of Netflix.
