Breaking new ground

About this time last year, I was about to undertake a rather ambitious garden make over project for the dream of eventually eating home grown vegetables. Some of you may remember seeing my photographic reports in the album Breaking points, and two blog posts, Breaking points and Ultimate back-breaking day

Now I have a few more pictures to show you on the recent development 😀 …

Normally I would show one or two thumbnails here and type some lines of description. Then let you go to the album to see & comment on individual photos. I would still like you to do that. But I've been also very busy with my day job and really done with composing and typing at the moment. So I let the pictures talk for themselves. 😉 (Click the image to go to the photo list)
Hope you are impressed by how much I have done, while also working almost flat out for the last few weeks.

I still have a couple more deadlines one tomorrow and two Tuesday, but hope to put more compost in the bed before planting my first vegetable of the season 😀

:coffee: then

  1. Impressive 🙂 We planted out some vegetables a couple of weeks ago, but it didn't require the levels of effort you're putting in.

  2. Thanks, Brendan. I'm sure your veggies will be great. We have some challenging vege growing here in Wellington. But Metservice is forecasting warm spring and I'm rather hopeful. :)This in only my second growing season. It was initially that lifestyle show, "Get Growing", that got me curious about growing my own things. I started with a few pots of herbs. Then the then next door neighbour started building a small bed and putting some lettuces in, which intrigued me very much. So last year I had the first go at it. And, despite the miserable so called summer with the highest temperature hardly reaching 23, I got some good crops from the small bed. :happy:The good neighbours moved out since on a big OE. I miss them. But I'm more motivated this season. I've bought a lot of seeds and need as much space as I get to plant the fast growing seedlings out. Busy times ahead. 😀
