As you've probably noticed, I live in a hillside suburb overlooking a big bush reserve. Naturally most houses in this area can have some privacy while still enjoying a good view. Our high window overlooking the street is one such private lookout.

There are still times, however, I feel presence, a fleeting shadow impossible to capture, a flash of movement, outside the high window. I quickly turn my head, 'Who's there!' …

It sometimes turns out a rather colourful character like this visitor.
