Takes a little getting used to

Recently this posh looking girl joined my digital camera toolbox.

I had been quite happy with my old trusty Canon IXY 10 (IXUS 70), light, small, reliable and takes good pictures. However with his x3 optical zoom capability, there was a limitation in what I could capture. So I couldn't resist when, just over a month ago, I saw this one, Canon PowerShot SX210 IS with x14 optical zoom, priced reasonably at a shop. 😀

I've found the range of tricks this colourful girl could do rather mind boggling and overwhelming. This character certainly takes some getting used to and trying out this new toy, experimenting with new features means a lot of trial pictures.

Today I've created a new album to put some of the "experiments" I've been doing with the new girl in my "hood". 😎 I'll be adding more experimental pictures as I play with different features.

  1. New camera always spice up thee photography as a hobby 🙂 Looking forward to see great photos

  2. Thanks, Sami. Not sure about great photos, but I'd like to produce more interesting, different pictures. 😉

  3. Thank you for suggesting. I've had a quick look at both groups.I'm a total novice, only started taking photographs of things other than pretty scenery and cute cat pictures. So far I've found I do like to experiment and see how it turns out. It would be nice to see how more experienced do things with their camera and share mine, however primitive, with others. I'm not that industrious and not sure I can keep up with daily picture taking for 365. Shoot&Tell seems more like my idea of doing something different with my camera, but that group is not for novices is it? BTW thanks for your friend request, Sami. Dully accepted. 🙂

  4. Yes, 365 is really demanding :faint: But I have learned a lot thanks to wonderful people there :up:Originally posted by mimi_s_mum:

That's very young group still. But something must be wrong on layout or description if it makes you thinks the group is not for novices. Don't let that misguide you. I can assure the S&T group is for all amateur photographers no matter how technically skillful they are. We moderators there try to do our best to make it welcoming for everyone :up:EDIT:Originally posted by mimi_s_mum:

Since I'm not fluent in English I'm not sure what that means in the context you used the word. Just curious to learn more 🙂

  5. Thanks, Sami. I'll consider joining either, not sure which group yet. Just not both like you. :p

    Dully

Oops. Sorry That's a typo. Should be "Duly", meaning rightfully, properly or as it ought to be.
